ElmerJFudd
https://audionamix.com/products/xtrax-stems/ OK, these guys say their software can separate a recording into 3 stems - Vocal, Drums, and everything else. "Audionamix, the industry leader in audio source separation, is officially releasing XTRAX STEMS, the worlds first fully-automatic stem creator. XTRAX STEMS can easily separate any song into its drum, vocal and remaining music components. Created for DJs, music producers and remix artists, XTRAX STEMS allows users to create multitrack content to control during live sets, opening up possibilities for easy remixing, sampling and a capella creation like never before! XTRAX STEMS can be used also by musicians to practice along with their favorite tracks. Singers and drummers can play along with the song with the vocals or drums turned off. They can also listen to soloed vocal or drum parts to spot all the details of the original performance, vocal harmonies, and mixing techniques." Automatically Separate Songs into Drums, Vocals and Music Stems Export Individual Stems as Audio Files Create and Export a New Volume and Pan Mix Works on Mono and Stereo Files Works on audio files up to 96 kHz, 32 bits Offers four powerful cloud-based separation algorithms to tailor the separation to your particular file Mac-Only (Mac OS X 10.11 10.13) Requires High-Speed Internet Connection Not sure how well it works, not much in the way of demos yet. But this technology is something they've been working on for a while in other products that focus on other aspects of separating parts in complex recordings - melodies, vocals, dialogue, etc. Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-
Jonathan Hughes
Here's a review of software by the same company that just separates out vocals: It's impressive, but doesn't seem like it would be usable for anything where sound quality is critical. It would or baby be fine for a DJ. You can't take the flour out the cake.

The challenge begins typically on how the original track is recoded. For example, if vocals are sharing the center channel with drums/other instruments it's a unsatisfactory mess to separate out. When similar frequencies are crossed over or shared, separation was not possible. $74 is not a massive investment. Would like to see more user testimony if the product or this particular tech actually works on audio. Thanks for posting this Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ?
