Dan South
I had lunch with DJDM today. (Nope, not an April Fools joke!) He's here in New York to see his parents play at Carnegie Hall. (I swear, I'm not making this up.) While we were walking down Fifth Avenue, we saw a convoy of about 200 Winnebagoes. (I absolutely swear on a stack of Bibles that this happened even though I've never seen a Winnebago convoy in New York - or anywhere else - before!) Darn it! If you STILL don't believe me, you'll just have to check out my autographed DJDM CD! I've got it right here! (Well, I guess you'll have to take my word on that one...) Anyway, Lance and Selena, when you get back to your internet connection, I wanted to say thanks for taking time out of your whirlwind itinerary to meet me for lunch. I'm sorry that I was a little fatigued - it's been a crazy week. Sorry, also, that the weather wasn't better, but I hope you had fun at "The Show," nudge nudge, wink wink. It was a pleasure to meet you both! Hope you had a great time in The Big Apple! WAY TOO KEWL!!! The Black Knight always triumphs!

Jan Folkson
I met up with Lance, Selena a few of Selena's friends and some friends of mine last night for dinner, drinks then some hanging back at my studio in NYC. Too bad we couldn't get some more forumites (is that a word?) involved, but it was good hang. ...and a good time was had by all. - Jan Folkson http://www.janfolkson.com "How do you know when it's music and not just a bunch of noise" - Dennis the Menace
DJDM
Hey all! Wow... Selena and I had the most amazing time. Manhattan rocks. Completely! Things we saw: Dan South (Great Guy and Chinese Lunch host extraordinaire) Jan Folkson (Also a great guy with a VW fascination a cute kid and who doubles as a top level studio magnate) Carnegie Hall (The show was amazing!) The Late Show with David Letterman Taping (The episode with The Rock, Liz Phair who RulZ!) Sirius Satellite's breathtaking two floor facility on The Ave of the Americas (36th and 37th floor overlooking everything!) An unexpected live broadcast performance by: Toots Thielemans Kenny Werner Oscar Castro-Neves Airto Moreira (In the Sirius studios they were five feet away! Simply unbelievable!) Rockefeller Center (They are still ice skating there!) Saint Patrick's Cathedral (Armed Guards make it look like Dublin) 5th Ave (Shopping... endless shoes as Selena discovered) The Chrysler building (No visitors allowed unless you are charming like us ) The NY Library and Bryant Park (The third floor Rulz!) Time Square (Could that place be any busier?) Grand Central Station (Had sushi in the basement over the trains) Several Restaurants and a lot of overpriced drinks! But hey! It's NYC! I will have more (and there is more) once I have decompressed a bit but I just wanted to thank Dan and Jan for coming out to greet us and spend a little time. Jan it was great meeting Spiro and Jared as well! Talk to you soon. - L DJDM.com

We just squeezed in a few extra blocks of sightseeing! The Black Knight always triumphs!

Simply unbelievable!) What a bunch of lightweights. I guess they'll put just about anyone on satellite radio. Sounds like you both had the best time! I wish could have been in NYC last week but I won't be there until later this month. With cheap airfares on jetBlue, why not come back later this year? I'd definitely make it in. Summer weather in NYC can be tough (especially when I do business in a suit and tie), but there are TONS of great outdoor events. Fall is better and the AES Show is usually around Columbus Day, isn't it? Autumn In New York...
