I NEED ALESIS EPROMS!!

Recommended Posts

my dm-pro has been in the shop for... i can't even remember... about six months. i've read every alesis thread here, so i kind of know the situation. the repair shop left a message today saying it needs "the main pc board eproms" which are "unavailable from the manufacturer." where are they? they are sitting in a warehouse somewhere and there are no employees to take orders and send them out, right? will they ever be available? will someone (numark or ?) begin to manufacture parts for alesis products? my local repair shop took the dm-pro apart and found out what was wrong, so they get to keep the $45 deposit. what should i do? see if they'll hold on to it for six more months and fix it when parts are available? get it back and put it in the basement? destroy it in anger? (that would be fun) okay... control... i'm calm... NO I'M NOT!!! HELP!!?! what's the address of the alesis warehouse- i've been playing metal gear solid, i should be able to carry out enough parts for all of us here. All is not lost. First of all, have you contacted Numark? Second, EPROMs are easily copied by someone with electronic savvy and an EPROM burner. But you need a working set of EPROMs to copy (which could come from another DM Pro). I would think that if you were persistent and offered the right sexual favors (just kidding!), someone at Numark would be able to either find replacement EPROMs, or burn you copies. Good luck!!

Okay, here's a stretch, good for a laugh: I've got an HR-16, v 1.09. Were there any higher versions (short of the HR-16B), and if so, are chips still available somewhere? Same place--Numark? Or some secret basement lab with a maniac and an EPROM burner?
I've upped my standards; now, up yours.

I work at GC and this is what we had to do to get some Alesis products fixed... Get a list of authorized Alesis repair stations. Call them all. One of them is bound to have the part you need in stock. Its worth a shot, right?
