jonmmartin
What is the difference between the M20 and the XT20. Do they sound different? Is the M20 worth the difference in price? Thanks for your comments.
Philip OKeefe
Heavier duty transport on the M20, more professional sync capabilities too. Other than that, I'd IMAGINE the converters on the M20 could possibly be better, but I do not know that for certain. As far as price differences, it would depend on the condition of the individual machines and the asking prices for each as to which I would consider to be the "better deal". BTW, welcome to the forums.
Anderton
The M20 converters definitely ARE better. I sold my ADATs except for one M20 so I could be compatible with ADAT tapes, but also so I could use the converters. They sound nice. Like Phil sez...better transport and sync, too. Heavier duty, jog/shuttle wheel, etc. You should be able to find one in good shape for around $1K. If you use ADAT, that's worth the difference compared to an XT20 IMHO.
