"Keyboard Artist

We're looking for an amazing keyboard artist to take on the unique and exciting role of educating our customers on everything from grand pianos to keyboard controllers. This is a dream job for someone who loves keyboards, plays them fantastically, and communicates that passion to others. Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of knowledge on these products and not be intimidated by new technology. You'll be extremely comfortable on-camera and able to express genuine excitement about the products. Prior experience appearing in product or educational videos is a huge plus."

Only caveat... you would need to relocate to Ft. Wayne.

Sent my resume and demo video in for this one, saw it about a week ago. Absolutely would love to have this opportunity, and yes, I would move in a heartbeat.

I have gear. Don't we all? Some is old, some is new. Ask me what I've got and I'll tell you.

Good luck to whomever applies for it. I get the impression that is a great company to work for. But yeah, I'm not terribly interested in moving to Ft. Wayne, either. I moved south for a reason...

OK, nominations. Who here would be right for this job iyho?

Knowledgeable on what Sweetwater carries, plays well, and has the right temperament for sales. I'd say dB of course, but I'm not sure he'd want it. The Indiana relocate is a bitch for a lot of us.

I hate the Midwest ! Humidity, cold. Why would anyone with half a brain consider spending even a year of their life in a place as bleak as Indiana ?

:D

WOT ??

You can ski during the midwest's forever winters. Every now and then there is a 70 degree day during the winter and the snow melts. Perfect tanning time.

In the summer, you can practice your batting skills by killing huge mosquitos.

And I love the change of seasons ( snort). one day its 10 degrees, next day its 60 degrees, then a tornado the next day.

And its much cheaper to live there than Maui. ;)

Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ?

My sis lives in Ft Wayne and it's a nice little town. Got the Padres minor league affiliate the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps there. I could do the Sweetwater gig, I could play organ for the Tin Caps, do occasional gigs in Indy and Chicago, hang with my sister and her family, eat DeBrand Chocolate till I am 300 lbs and happy.......

But nah. Life in San Diego is pretty freakin great. Good opportunity for someone though.

This keyboard blows big time ! If you consider yourself at all serious move on. If you're not serious, what the hell are you doing here in the first place wasting my time ?

You wouldn't have lasted a morning working for me. ;)

I already do something similar for a living (flow and density specialist - same thing, different products). I even have a few videos under my belt. I love digging deep into keyboards and usually when on the phone with people like those at Sweetwater, feel like I'm the one teaching them about the product. My biggest weak point, believe it or not, would be my playing. That, and I don't want to move, and probably make more doing what I do now.

Frankly if I didn't already have a great gig, I'd seriously consider this....sounds like one of those things that you can't believe someone wants to pay you to do.

I just talked to a buddy over there and said he hadn't heard anything about it and he has been there 20 plus years.

I'm always surprised when I see a job listing without an estimated pay range. Seems amateurish, as if they know they aren't paying much and are only realistically going to get entry-level applicants.

Interesting.

FWIW, nowadays it seems amateurish when a pay range is immediately quoted. The absence of salary quote wouldn't draw me to the conclusion that comp is low, or targeted at entry level.

OK, nominations. Who here would be right for this job iyho?

I know of two gentlemen here who would be perfect for this job: Extensive product knowledge, charismatic on-screen personas, and great work ethic. Unfortunately they are already very gainfully employed (by the same company, no less).

Good luck to all who applies - would be great to see a "hometown boy make good".

Sure, but as with any work in any company or institution, the novelty would surely wear off over time. That said, it might be the type of thing I'd consider as an after career, pre-retirement job for about 10 years. I'm guessing commission is a factor in a sales job like this... would need to make the monthly quota if you know what I mean.

I guess that depends on the field and location. In fields I know and my circle of friends are in, I can't imagine a job listing not showing the pay range. Sometimes it might be a large range, with a starting salary given based on minimum qualifications being met and room to go higher based on experience.

Yeah yeah..I know I'm great but tell me something I haven't known since a very young age. Can you at all comprehend my burden of being gifted and special , then having to go through my entire life co-existing with all these ordinary people ? Anyway, enough talk about me, let's talk about my new CD.

Dave, you're not a Canadian music producer in your spare time, by any chance?
