d halfnote
Heard this recently on a supermarket's radio feed... [video:youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DohRa9lsx0Q . Why'd I never really hear the bass lines before ?! Are they as hip as I suddenly think ? Let's put a hearty thanks in to Tony Williams, who, apparently, now works mostly in animal conservation. d=halfnote
jeremy c
I used to sing that song in a Top 40 band. (or do something vaguely resembling singing) Free download of my cd!.
Paul K
That song is in my solo set. I play it sometimes... Bass line didn't hit you when you were young because you heard it on AM radio in your father's Plymouth Fury III. The only hip thing that made it out of those speakers was the cowbell at the end of the chorus. So....Not your fault. Things are just the way they are, and they're only going to get worse. Seamy ALB
Jeff Healey did a version of this - it was the first time I'd heard the song and it was great - the Bass part was class. The Stealers Wheel version is very cool also. It always gets people boogieing when we play it!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Little-Bitter/185235472447
EddiePlaysBass
I always thought the vocals were a tad on the lame side Love the bass line, though. "I'm a work in progress." Micky Barnes The Ross Brown Shirt World Tour
Danzilla
I'm actually auditioning for a blues band, and they sent me their set list. They do the Jeff Healey version. Not to contradict Seamy (but I will ), this version's bass line isn't as riffy or ear-catching as the original. Maybe I'll find a way to blend elements of the two. hurricane hugo
Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" suffers from a similar fate. Absolutely killer bass line hidden beneath. http://blip.fm/invite/WorkRelease
Nicklab
I'm guessing that you never saw "Reservoir Dogs"? SteveC
I have played this tune a million (close to accurate) times. I played a combo of mine and the recorded. People seem to like the song. I'm glad the new band won't be doing it.
