techristian
Yes it is sad but true. We were all told that XP would not support JAVA OUT OF THE BOX but did you know that your webpage will appear for only a instant and then disappear when viewed on an XP without the SUN plugin? I'm using JAVA on my website and as soon as the page comes up (only on my XP computer) the page will disappear before I can hit any link. Other times I will need to restart IE. After the plugin is installed, everything seems to work ok. I'm wondering how many XP surfers , who never bothered to install the plugin, never come back because they can't see anything. So now I must decide if I'm going to change more than 300 web pages !!! A BATCH editor would be nice right now! techristian
I already installed the SUN plugin today. It works fine. I don't trust the Microsoft version after seeing what XP did to my webpage. I'm thinking of just creating a few DOORWAY pages with links to the SUN plugins to fix the problem. I like JAVA and I plan on doing more with it in the future. Thanks for the link John. I just noticed a few other goodies there. phaeton
JAVA is a wonderfully beautiful thing... It was a clean, from the ground up, OO "write once run everywhere" language. This scares the bejesus out of Microsoft for some reason, and they've been trying to kill it since 1997. Notice how java works beautifully in every single web browser *except* IE... Duhduh
I just went to two of your sites on my XP machine and they worked fine. Ive never downloaded anything from Sunn. "Meat is the only thing you need beside beer! Big hunks of meat and BEER!!...Lots of freakin' BEER." "Hey, I'm not Jesus Christ, I can't turn water into wine. The best I can do is turn beer into urine." techristian
I might add that I also picked up a "security upgrade" from Microsoft recently for my XP machine. DuhDuh I already removed most of the JAVA from the home pages. JcsKid If I wrote faulty code, then why did it work properly for 3 years?
