Stokely
Hi, was searching various forums for piano vst recommendations and came across this guy: http://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/64-Virtual-Instrument/1844-Eighty-Eight-Ensemble Low price, so I'm leaning toward trying it out regardless, but I have a couple questions. - Has anyone tried it and have an opinion on it? - My only software piano is currently the ones built into Logic; I'm not real fond of them, the best I can say is that they load quickly. So any thoughts on how this piano compares, or thoughts on the Logic pianos in general, are welcome (it's possible that I just haven't given them a good enough chance, or that my controller isn't matched up right. A baseline of Logic pianos good or bad might be helpful). - This appears to have iLok, and without getting into a war I'm not a big fan. It's not a dongle though. So, does that mean that it is limited to a certain number of installs? I'm looking to upgrade my older macbook pro at some point fairly soon. - Any other recommendations for affordable pianos? I don't work professionally, just doodle around on rock/pop/new agey stuff and can't justify a big expense like say for Keyscape. Not with my live rig needing some attention after my Kurzweil problems Thanks! I figured, just what the internet needs, another virtual piano thread
Stokely
Already intrigued by this, don't know much about it yet... http://www.soniccouture.com/en/products/26-percussion/g49-the-hammersmith/ And down the rabbit hole I go!
Doerfler
- Any other recommendations for affordable pianos? Black Friday is in 3 weeks. I would wait until then. Typically, Native Instruments has a 50% off sale. Their "Definitive Piano Collection" has 2 grand piano's and an upright. Not best in class by any means, but you asked for affordability and this is a lot of bang for the buck. DEFINITIVE PIANO COLLECTION
Stokely
oooh, thanks for that...completely forgot. I'll give them a listen. When I get to be best in class I'll demand my piano is best in class I'm 49 so there's a chance it may not happen! edit: I liked all three of the pianos from the definitive collection. They sound far better than the Logic ones, first impression at least.
