Alice Cooper on Halloween Eve... Could it get any better?

So looking forward to this show on Sunday. I first saw him in 1971 during his first tour. I will never forget that performance. The crowd was really vicious, calling him horrible names... and he WON THEM OVER! This 16 year-old had never seen anything like that... until that night.

LOVE ALICE!!!!!!!!!

Found this great video of his second tour (which I also saw... was a huge fan back then)... Love their West Side Story tribute. He truly brought the theatre to rock.

Found this clip from his first tour... At 9:20 someone rudely throws something at him and it hits him squarely in the face. This ULTIMATE SHOWMAN AND PROFESSIONAL continues with his performance. THIS is what I am talking about.

If you haven't seen "Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon"...about their manager, it is well worth viewing. Interesting guy with lots of great stories about Alice and his myriad of other famous clients.

I ran into Alice at a charity ball this year. He was very giving of his time and a very very very nice guy. I talked to him for probably 10-15 minutes about various things. Seems like a guy very comfortable with his fame.

You want me to start this song too slow or too fast?

Forte7, Nord Stage 3, XK3c, OB-6, Arturia Collection, Mainstage, MotionSound KBR3D. A bunch of MusicMan Guitars, Line6 stuff

The guy was very comfortable back in 1971! Maybe the most level-headed rock star of the time.

For those who have not seen it, watch this amazing documentary on Shep Gordon. One of the great rock and roll managers in history...

Is he performing with the original band? Thought they were back together and working on an album. . .

I don't think so. My old bandmate Coz Canler is playing guitar.

So the show was off the charts! Damn! Maybe one of the best Rock n Roll shows I have seen in a long time. He played a lot of material off of Love it to Death and Killer, plus some very good new material. He still has the pipes and the showmanship. And an fantasic band with a killer chick guitarist. Last night was the last show of the tour, and Johnny Dep joined in for 18 and Schools Out.

Just pulled this out from the first time I saw his band in 1971... How do you like this lineup?

Man, we grew up during a great time for music.

The minimum wage in 1971 was $1.60/hr, so for an advance purchase ticket you would have worked 2.5 hours at a b.s. job to see Brownsville Station, MC5 and Alice Cooper. That's a helluva value!

For the same work at today's minimum wage you would get about $18...the average ticket price in the first 6 months of this year was $46.69.

1971 was better...

It was so affordable that this 16 year old could afford to go BOTH nights. I did that regularly at Pirates World.
