videoeditor1
A lot of songs can be "perfect". Cuz they can reach you in different ways. Certainly, exposure has some play in all of this. While "Hey Macarena" nor "Don't Worry, be Happy" are not/ were not high on my list, excessive radio play have made these two nauseating. theblue1
What really amazes me is how many of the tracks listed in this thread might make it onto my own personal "Worst Pop Songs Ever" list... including one of my own suggestions. Which is just fine, I guess, and is probably why there are so many radio stations... now, if they didn't all play the same damn stuff. bookmark these: news.google.com | m-w dictionary | wikipedia encyclopedia | Columbia Encyclopedia TK Major / one blue nine | myspace.com/onebluenine

Flemtone
Todd all the way - been a fan since seeing him in Central Park when "Sons of 1984" was recorded. He knows the formula for the quintessential pop tune, that's for sure. I'm surprised no one's mentioned: "Go All The Way" by the Raspberries or just about anything by The Hollies. Pop standards not previously mentioned. Groovy, man. Far out. Tim from Jersey Play. Just play.
Gulliver
I didn't read ALL the posts here, but in my case these songs would be: Toto - Rosanna, Africa Mister Mister - Kyrie Peter Gabriel - (any of his hits) Police - Every Little Thing She Does Sting - (almost any of his hits) Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellites (is she a typical "one hit wonder"?) Genesis - Mama, Land Of Confusion, Follow You Follow Me, Misunderstanding (nah, all their hits) Tears For Fears - Shout, Sowing The Seeds Of Love, Woman In Chains, Elemental Alannah Miles - Black Velvet Bruce Hornsby - The Way It is (and all his others) Don Henley - The Boys Of Summer Eagles - Hotel California Nik Kershaw - The Riddle (and all the other hits) Seal - Crazy Pink Floyd - Money Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen (too bad, they almost never play this one!) Yes - Owner Of The Lonely Heart, Wonderous Stories, Awaken I am back.
Philip OKeefe
Good call on Dusty Springfield - "The Look Of Love". I'll probably be killed for this one, but how about Black Velvet? I always loved that song - hooky bass line, great singing, cool lyrics... a catchy pop tune.

Philip OKeefe
Hey Sal, one more post and you join the 5K club! Of course, some journalist will now come along and take all the credit for breaking the story, just like what happened the other day when someone else hit 5K... Yes it's cheezy, but GOOD cheese.
