Not answering specifically for the FA but it's common for this to be caused by not disabling continuous controllers in your sequences. Aftertouch can really chew up squencer memory.

I couldn't find anything in the manual about a limit, but I'd think it's a total combo of notes and midi controller values.

Just for grins did you check the free space on the SD-Card.

I have a 32gb in mine- and even with all the sound effects samples and imported patches and stuff, I'm only using about 1.5gb. It'd take a LOT of data to fill up even the stock 4gb card.

That's what I figured too. I have less than 500mb on my 4gig (you've been busy DanL). I posed this question here for someone else on the Roland Clan forum as I knew there were several FA owners here.

 

+ I would also like to know should I run up against this down the road. I did find a couple of posts discussing this issue but for a different Roland board (Fantom G).
