Don't know if you guys have checked it out. But the musical direction on this series is phenomenal, particularly if you dig Soul Music.

Luke Cage is tailor-made for my generation (old-skool hiphopheads). A lot of oblique references to 1990's hiphop lore, the episodes are named after iconic Gang Starr songs, and the whole show just oozes that throwback vibe.

Apparently, the show broke the internet, too.

My favorite insider-reference is when Misty says "I've been on these streets since every passing car was either pumping Shook Ones or Ice Cream".

A strange omission in that link about the musicians in the show is D-Nice, the DJ in the Harlem Paradise club.

He was with Boogie Down Productions, and KRS-One used to call him "The Human 808". It's cool he gets a little airtime.

On the whole, I think Netflix has figured out that oldskool-hiphopheads are a pretty large and untapped market. First "The Getdown" and now "Luke Cage", that's two shows squarely targeting that market just this year.

Please no spoilers about the show; not all of us have had a chance to binge watch yet. ;)

Enjoy the series. By the way, the lab chief turns out to be a robot, and the bomb is inside him.

Victory of the Daleks?

Maybe. :idk I got it from:

Maybe one of the King of Queens staff writers lifted it from Mr. Whoville?

:w00t:

Anywho, my son & I use this line every time we are leaving a movie when people are lined up for the next show. Harmless shenanigans.
