Bif_
I have Cubase, came with my MOXF. Trying to use Air Xpand 2 with it but it is not visible in Cubase. How do I get that into Cubase? Markyboard
You might have better luck with a response if you tell us the steps you've taken so far. Otherwise I'm sure there's plenty of info out there including the Cubase forum. I haven't used Cubase in many years but generally with all DAWs you load the VI into a plugin folder under the DAW directory and then open a track and maybe load the VI as an effect? :idk Sorry, it's been a long time. SeaGtGruff
As far as I know, only VST plug-ins will work with Cubase, so the first thing to do is make sure you've installed the VST version of Xpand!2. (You can install the AU or AAX versions if you want, just be sure to install the VST version as well.) I should add that I don't have Xpand!2, so I'm not familiar with the options you're given during its installation procedure, but AIR Music Technology's web site says that Xpand!2 is "Compatible with AU and VST only. (AAX version available in AIR Creative Collection)" so I'm assuming that there must be an option to install the VST version. Other than that, read pages 382 and 383 in your Cubase Operation Manual (available under the Help Documentation menu selection). From those pages, it looks like Cubase wants you to install your VST2 or VST3 plugins in the specific folders that Cubase uses. Some DAWs let you install plugins anywhere and then add the plugins' directory paths to a directory search list in the DAW, but apparently Cubase isn't like that. Bif_
Thanks for both responses. I now have Xpand2 visible as a VST instrument in the Cubase "plug-in manager". When I add an instrument track, Xpand2 is not shown as a possible selection, just Halion (that came with Cubase). I'm sure this is simple, just not apparent to me. Bif_
I just stumbled into how to do it. As you were. Kurzweil Forte, Yamaha Motif ES7, Muse Receptor 2 Pro Max, Neo Ventilator
Bif_
Well dang. I'm able to select xpand2 as a VST instrument but when I try to load it I get a pop up window that says "VST Bridge Not Working". Also there aren't any presets visible. Suggestions?? SeaGtGruff
I don't know whether any of the following might contain any helpful information: https://www.steinberg.net/nc/en/support/knowledgebase_new/show_details/kb_show/what-is-the-vst-bridge.html http://www.syntheway.com/Steinberg_VST_Bridge.htm https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/688567-cubase-6-connection-vstbridge-lost-what-can-i-do.html One thing I notice is that the first reference mentions that the VST Bridge runs as a separate process from Cubase, so you might try checking your Task Manager to see if the VST Bridge is running-- or the Services in the Control Panel, or wherever you go to see if the VST Bridge is running. Markay
Expand is 64 bit, a bridge should only be necessary if you are loading a 32 bit app in 64 bit OS, which cannot be the case here. Unless you are running a 32 bit OS in which case you will not be able to open a 64 bit app. What OS are you running? Bif_
Updated Cubase and can now see and load expand2 into a track. Still figuring it all out. Thanks for all the help.
