That was awesome. I wish that moment from the concert was filmed!

Love Wakeman... Just finished listening to the Yes Progeny recordings on this 11 hour flight back to the states and his keyboard work is nothing short of brilliant. Unlike the old Yessongs mix, these live recordings from that same tour have crystal clear instrument separation with ZERO reverb! So you can hear everything he does... Even the most complex rhythmic comping...

His sense of humor is delightfull as well. Being a heater artist I can certainly relate to the dangers of running lifts and traps without the proper rehearsals. He was lucky the trap door opened!

It's interesting to see how over the years Rick has transcended his career as a musician. I remember seeing him live 20 years ago with his son in a small local community centre. I was still into my prog back then and thought it was awesome but had been expecting more after listening to his records. I remember he turned up with a Korg Prophecy and Korg digital piano in a shell. I was miffed he hadn't brought his Moog!

He's quite popular on mainstream tv/radio in the UK, and people of all ages recognise him, even if not by name, by the 'grumpy old men' tv series he was part of.

He's got enough stories in the bag to tour and not touch a key. I have no doubt he's not the only one from that era, but he's a born story teller!

I remember him telling an amusing Christmas story where he was drinking beer and eating turkey, while the rest of Yes were eating their vegan tofu.

One by one they snuck back in to partake of his turkey. LOL

Edit: well I remembered most of the story right: clonk

And if you're on Twitter (or even if you're not, you can just hit the link once in a while), his updates are more of that same humour [sorry I have to spell that way when talking about a Brit].

Ha. I remember reading this. My favourite part :

It wasn't the sort of outfit that attracted groupies: our fans were more likely to throw synthesizer manuals on stage than knickers. :rimshot:
