Does the Fantom G have any disadvantages or shortcomings vs the FA-06?

Thanks

The Fantom G is a better keybed and can multisample. As far as shortcomings vs. the FA-06, it would be the sounds. The G cannot take any of the SRX boards, but the FA-06 can load up to 2 at a time (and they're all free now from Roland as downloads).

Edit - I missed "pad sampler" in the title....

Thanks, I want a decent synth keybed for my rig. I need a SP404 type sampler. I like the sample editing on the Fantom. I'm considering replacing the FA 06 with a used Fantom G.

I was considering the JP80 but I would still need the FA06 for the sampler or need to buy a SP404SX.

There is a considerable load time for the samples on the Fantoms. I had a Fantom for a while and a 256mb sample chip took several minutes to load at boot up time.
