sign
I happen to have listened to a pair of IMF ALS40II monitors. Very balanced sound, very nice mid and low, great stereo image. So I put an adver on kind of Dutch Ebay (Marktplaats) and it turned out these are rare and sought after vintage speakers. http://imf-electronics.com/ http://imf-electronics.com/ALS40/IMF-ALS40inb.jpg Edit:typo The alchemy of the masters moving molecules of air, we capture by moving particles of iron, so that the poetry of the ancients will echo into the future. sign
I told ya guys, they're rare monitorspeakers, but among the best I've heard so far. If I have to make a top three I'd say Earthworks, Adam and IMF, there's no first, second and third, for each has it's own high quality. But it really surprises me that a speaker that sounds so good, can be so rare. There's even an IMF discussion group on the www. I want them and I will get them! DC
I almost bought a pair used back in the 80s. These just had 8"s and tweets but man would they get loud. They sounded more clinical than exciting, probably great for mixing. I think this particular model was used in mobil British mixing vans. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
