Philip OKeefe
Anyone have any details on what Pete Thomas used on the old Elvis Costello & The Attractions records? Drum kit? Mics? Where it was recorded? Okay, I'm use a lot of different rooms were used over the years... but let's limit it to around the time of Imperial Bedroom on that part of it. Lee, you're the fount of drum wisdom - any ideas?
Kendrix
Mix mag does a monthly column on the making of classic albums/tracks. Im trying to remember if they ever did a piece on Elvis's stuff. I have a vague recollection that they might have- but Im not at all sure of this. Maybe there is a way to search their archive on the web? Good luck Check out some tunes here: http://www.garageband.com/artist/KenFava
Dwarf
Pete used Gretsch for a long time. He now uses DW. There's a website for him at http://www.petethomasdrums.com/ I don't know if Pete sees any e-mail from there or not (the e-mail goes to a Philip Thomas) but it might be a place to ask. -- Rob I have the mind of a criminal genius.....I keep it in the freezer next to mother. Philip OKeefe
I was just scoping out Pete's site and noticed he's done some work with Vonda Shepard with Mitch Froom at the production helm... and since our old buddy John Paterno has worked with both of them, he might be able to give me some more in depth details. I'll have to ring him up (unless he happens to see this first ).
