MotiDave
Mid-tier professional boards are getting so good, the live performer market won't need to buy workstations to get these performance abilities and features. Manufacturers are seeing this, the mid-tier boards are better than ever and keep getting better. Roland FA, MOXF, PX-5, ... the trend is there, great performance boards with workstation-like performance abilities but without the workstation music creation functionality. Creators and recorders are moving to computer based solutions, where they have much more capable editing and post-production abilities than available in a workstation. The nitch that actually needs / wants the full on-board multitrack recording functionality is ever reducing. This is great news for live performers wallets. The baiting I do is purely for entertainment value. Please feel free to ignore it.
ElmerJFudd
Now once they strip the production stuff maybe we can get some dedicated controls and dead simple Korg SV-1 type interface on an amazing sounding and playing giggers board.
