ani Posted February 9, 2004 Share Posted February 9, 2004 Tedster's avatar of Terry Kath of the group Chicago, and his recent thread that led to discussions of other members in the group prompted me to follow the URL that Ted's avatar is linked from back to Terry Kath's guitar site. I had always thought that Robert Lamm was a handsome man, but I thought that Peter Cetera was homely when I was a kid. When I browsed through the pics on the site, I was amazed at how much extreme difference a hairstyle made in one's appearance. Here is the image that Peter Cetera fronted as the lead singer during the height of Chicago's popularity: http://www.terrykathsguitarclub.com/website%20stuff/Chicago/Peter/cetera.jpg I thought he looked hideous when I was a teenager; this image would still affect my opinion in a negative way today if he were still sporting that look. However, when I started viewing other photos of the same man; I had to bounce back and forth from old to new photos to make sure I was viewing the same man. This image of Peter Cetera is quite attractive, and so are others where he is wearing his hair in a short and tapered style rather than the longer length. BTW, I usually "LIKE" shoulder length hair and maybe a bit longer on guys. Yet, I do still like an appealing short haircut as well. Depends on the facial structure. He has definitely aged with grace. And NO Super, I'm not saying that men look better with shorter hair always. Depending on the facial structure, some men look better with hair below the lobes, but an incredibly handsome man should not hide his good looks buried under hair. I'm usually attracted to men that have shoulder length hair if it is well groomed and more of a straight texture. Men that have curly hair... I don't like bushy curly hair on men when there are styles that accent the layers of curls and just make a man look superior. Peter Cetera has full hair and it is very becoming to his facial structure to wear it in the latter style. I absolutely adore a cleft chin on a man; I think they are very distinguished, and to hide a face as handsome as Peter Cetera has behind a mop of hair is an absolute shame. He's gorgeous But yeah...... his music certainly did go down hill after Terry Kath shot himself. I've always been under the assumption that Terry Kath was the backbone of the band, and after his death, the lyrics in the songs Peter Cetera has done have been shallow and forced. I assume that either Terry Kath was the lyricist, or else another band member was the writer and removed himself from the band works upon the loss of Kath. And his dorkiness looks more appealing to me with the long hair if I had to choose.
