velvetoceansound
Instead of asking you guys a bunch of mundane questions about live sound that you have answered 200 times already, I thought I sould ask if anyone has found any good info sites on the net? I tried doing searches but all i can seem to get is sites for live sound companies. I need some "How to". I'm going to be taking over the sound system at my church in a few months. Who ever set it up knew what they were doing but I think that party is no longer in the picture. It's in a room that seats about 700. That should give you an idea as to why I want to educate myself. I am familiar with the studio environment so I hope my experience carries over well. I just want learn about all the things that you would NOT run into in a studio but you would in a live sound situation. thanks.

Where does this candle impulse come from, and in what other profession does it get expressed? -steve albini
BoldRuler
A while back I was looking for resources to enlighten trainees learning sound reinforcement for our church. One good step is checking out the manufacturer's sites, mackie, rane, ashley, shure etc... mackie has a lot of stuff for church sound, including "blessed mixings". also I found this one, http://www.soundinstitute.com/ that has online free courses and a library of useful articles. Good Luck! Dave no matter where you go, there you are... http://johnnypistolaband.com
Dylan
I don't know of any online resources, but the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook is a great book that has tons of useful info.
