Sundown Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I'm not a huge fan of the Korg Kronos (it's not really a fit for my needs), but I love the aesthetic update for 2015, especially the wood cheeks on either side of the chassis. New Kronos If I had unlimited resources, I would hunt down a Roland JX-10 or A-50 and do a custom job. Sundown Finished: Gateway, The Jupiter Bluff, Condensation, Apogee Working on: Driven Away, Backscatter, Eighties Crime Thriller Main axes: Kawai MP11 and Kurz PC361 DAW Platform: Cubase
MorayM Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I didn't see the point of cheeks until I got some! I'm on the hunt at the moment for a nice bit of cherry or walnut to replace the fake wood on my PC3K. Cephid - Progressive Electro Rock
ian_uk Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 One thing I wish you could get is replacement cheeks with routed hand holds in the end. Would make it a lot easier to get out of a tight fitting flight case. Would definitely do a custom job if I could get replacement ones for my NS2. Although... I should just be able to carve out my own... has anyone else done that?

The end pieces of some boards are just ergonomically bad, with apparently no thought given to how they impact the ability to grab the keyboard from its sides. Korg Kronos-61 and SV1-73 are both made more difficult to maneuver because of terribly designed side panels. I would love to see replacement end panels for these! Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
