Derek Sherinian Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Hi, I am getting my Prophet 5 Rev 3.2 MIDIfied.. Does anyone have an opinion on which MIDI kit to install- the Kenton or The Sequential Circuits? Thanks, Derek
The Real MC Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Look into the Highly Liquid UMR2. Designed to work with almost any polyphonic synth and it does work with the P5. Only note on/off but easier and cheaper than the other options.
analogholic Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 I would go for the Kenton. I have that one in my P5 Rev 3.2. It adds among other things, velocity (albeit monophonic) to VCF and/or VCA. Even if it affects all the voices the same, it makes it a new instrument. I have a hard time playing from its own keyboard as I got so used to the velocity. Check out the manual: http://www.kentonuk.com/kcurrentmanuals/PROX5000.pdf All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. Arthur Schopenhauer
