dazzyroots Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Dear All Im currently writing a dissertation about the preferred method of tuning guitars and bass guitars. I would appreciate it very much if you have 5minutes for me to answer the questions in this survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/32ZCPDH Thank you very much in advance.

whitefang Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Kind of a fun survey. I actually never gave most of the stuff that much thought! Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

Fred_C Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Another one done. Good luck with your dissertation. That being said, remember, "Luck is where preparation meets opportunity." If you play cool, you are cool.
Bluesape Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 done Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!
RobRose Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Very cool. Done. Interesting choice of words "What is it that disturbs you about an electronic tuner?" Kind of leading the witness, isn't it? Nash-customized Gibson Les Paul, Godin Progression Plus Quilter MicroPro Mach 2.0
jimmac Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 I did it too. As an engineer I like tools and the electronic tuner helps me lots. Especially when checking setting intonation (spelled wrong pretty sure) Jim
Larryz Posted December 10, 2014 Posted December 10, 2014 @ Rob, "What is it that disturbs you about an electronic tuner?" My answer was "nothing"...LOL! I too thought it was a leading question and it made me think of Perry Mason... @ Jim, +1 on setting/checking intonation. I think the electronic tuner is invaluable. I check intonation each time I change a string... I like my little snap on Snark and I can depend on it. I don't like tuners with mic's that pickup the crowd and other instruments but will use one if it's all the choice that I have. I offered a few tuning tips in the survey that will help when tuning a guitar no matter which method one prefers... Take care, Larryz
Winston Psmith Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Done, but my response to #9 was "Didn't we cover this in #4?" "Monsters are real, and Ghosts are real too.
