Kurzweil and UK distributor Sound Technology Ltd have announced the addition of two new models to the Kurzweil Artis series of stage pianos. The new Kurzweil Artis 7 and Kurzweil Artis SE join the original and hugely popular, Kurzweil Artis 88-note version. This is what they have to say about each of them...

Featuring the stunning new Artis German 9' Grand Piano, the Kurzweil Artis 7's sound quality, dependability, ease-of-use and lightweight housing are perfectly matched with a 76 note Fatar TP-8 semi-weighted keyed. The Kurzweil Artis 7 also includes the KORE 64 expansion ROM installed as standard, KB3 Tonewheel Emulation and Kurzweil's legendary VA-1 synthesiser engine.

Following the standard of sonic excellence established by the Artis, the Artis SE helps you realise a high level of performance at a more accessible price point. The Kurweil Artis SE features a 88 note fully-weighted hammer action Fatar TP100 keyed, the Artis German 9' Grand Piano, KB3 Tonewheel emulation, along with a wide selection of sounds from the acclaimed PC3 and KORE 64 expansion.

Pricing and Availability:

The Kurzweil Artis 7 is expected to be shipping in the UK in February 2015, priced at £1299 RRP inc VAT.

The Kurzweil Artis SE is expected to be available in February 2015, priced at £1099 RRP inc VAT.

I haven't seen a U.S. price for the Artis SE, but extrapolating from that, I figure the SE will probably be $1399. Maybe $1499, but I'll say $1399. Because of course, it can't be anything in between. ;-)

Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
