Can anyone recommend any how-to videos on playing organ parts from classic rock organ such as Hush, Magic Carpet Ride, Evil Ways, Hold Your Head Up, etc? I have found some youtube videos showing guys playing, but not how-to with chords, etc.

If you watch the Woodstock video, you can see Gregg Rollie's hands for a good hunk of Evil Ways, IIRC. :)

If you find anything better, let me know. My attempt at playing a good solo in there sucks donkey-dick. But, just so you know, it starts with a registration that has lots of high end and 3rd harmonic percussion. It's in G, starts on the A (max tension) and uses the G minor blues scale.

That Evil Ways Woodstock solo was great.

I love the part where he alternates between G and F with his thumb and first finger and hits the chord tones at the same time with his third and fifth fingers at 1.54 - an embellishment on a bread and butter blues lick, but I'm stealing it.

OP, I ain't much of an organ player at all but youtube is pretty good for some stuff. Tony Monaco and Keith Appleton have decent how-to videos but may not be EXACTLY what you're after.

Have you tried searching you tube for "How to play XXXXXX?" Or throwing in the word "tutorial" with the artist and/or song title may lead you to some helpful videos.

Here's a sample when I searched "how to play evil ways organ solo"

Doesn't matter some of it is still just him and how he feels the music. It's better to get the style than going for individual notes.
