Here is the weighted 88 K4. Robert gives a walkthrough of the controller layout.

The Physis K5 uses a Fatar TP100 key action (with 3 sensors). This is a lighter feel than the TP40 found in the K4 model which is why it's described as "Lightweight Hammer"... Hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Lightweighted in this case most probably refers to the weight of the entire keybed, not the weight needed to push down a key. I would not agree that TP100 has a lighter feel than the TP40 - it's just different, and the TP100 has a bit shallower key travel. So then I would also guess that there is quite a weight difference between the K4 and the K5.

Too much stuff, too little time, too few gigs, should spend more time practicing...!  🙄

If I'm not mistaken, the TP100 is the same keybed used in Studiologic's Acuna 73 and the Kurzweil SP4-8, and it's hammer action. Not precise and realistic as the TP40, but quite pleasant to play, especially live; it's not fatiguing even after several hours of playing. I'm not sure if I would do my piano technique on it, as it's a bit light - but it's not one of those "semi-weighted" abominations, like the SP4-7 for example. I find it quite playable.

Yup, and also in the Nord Electro/Piano HP, Studiologic Numa Stage and Kurz Artis AFAIK. Discussed here many, many times. Some love it, some hate it, I'm keen to try it...

Cheers, Mike.

Out of curiosity, where is their R&D lab ?

Yes, in Italy, but in which town ?

I read somewhere that their piano was done in Ancona (my original home town); it would be a sweet way to remember the old glory of the town (Farfisa, CRB, Crumar, etc ...)
