whitefang
Today marks the 69th birthday of singer/songwriter Neil Young. Never a real BIG fan, but he DOES represent a pleasant period of my past. Coupling that with the rate many of our early influences and heroes are dropping, it's STILL kinda nice to know he's still here! So, today Neil, eat a CINNAMON ROLL! If NOT a "Cinnamon GIRL"! Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

desertbluesman
I liked his first and second albums a big bunch, lost interest beyond After The Gold Rush. I did see him live back early in his career when he was promoting Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (his second album) I saw him at The Electric Factory in Philly a small venue holding less than a thousand people or so. I sat right in front of the stage and enjoyed the heck outta his show. Not much of a fan anymore, however but I was a big time fan early in his solo career after Buffalo Springfield. happy Birthday Neil dbm If it sounds good, it is good !! http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=143231&content=music
skipclone 1
He has done some great music and stayed active after his songwriting peak. Ya, sorry his electric ventures are easier to sympathize with than listen to. To an extent it was a protest against slick corporatized music-I agree but I still want to spare my ears! Same old surprises, brand new cliches- Skipsounds on Soundclick: www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandid=602491
Eric Iverson
Not a huge fan, but he HAS written some nice tunes.... Happy Birthday, anyway, Neil! PS I do remember liking him a lot in the '70s, around the time when "Down By The River" was a hit.
