Yep, Stambaugh.

There is a very large "club" thread on 'that other bass forum' about Stambaugh basses. They are very well regarded. Stambaugh makes his own models but will also do full custom work like the one Ben McKee is using. Ben did a show and tell about the bass in the aforementioned thread.

Could be an interesting contribution to the tone wood debate. I think it's beautiful. Love to know what it weighs.

I read the article about Ben on the Stambaugh website. He's pictured with two solid body basses.

The headstock definitely is a Stambaugh headstock. However, there are no hollow body instruments anywhere on the website except for a lute and a harp guitar.

So Ben's bass is definitely a one-of-a-kind.

Which means that I can't afford one like it. :(

Actually my understanding is that Stambaughs prices are very reasonable amoung boutique builders.

As for it being one=of=a=kind, Chris has built other hollowbody basses.

Tom Clement's basses are very nice and very reasonably priced too.

Looked over the site and didn't see that model. Did I miss it?

It's not a standard model. That particular bass was a custom build for the Imagine Dragons bassist. Fairly certain that instrument is highlighted on the Stambaugh website under custom builds.
