Lone Stranger
Line 1: the word "Christ" play a Bb. (just like "Corner" in line 3) Line 1: the Dm should be a Bb. Line 2: the word "strength" should be a Gm7 leading to a C all in the same word. Line 4: the word "drought" should be an F/A but line 5 is OK as written. All other lines that have the same melody sequence as the first 2 lines have the same chords as I posted above. I am not familiar with the last part unfortunately. I do know that most people play this tune in Eb instead of F. PCLinuxOS user
Aidan
Original score here. As you can see this hymn is really in Eb but this might help! Dr 5ives
One thing that will help is to have a piano/strings pad. That will help set the right atmosphere for the song. Also,if you can, set up so you can see the singer/worship leader singing, that will at least give you some help where you're at in the song, and the dynamics. hope that's some help D Veni Vidi Vici Vice Versa
churchkeybob
What keyboard are you playing? My church band plays this song and I like playing a fairly hot B3. keeping it down on the first half and bringing it up with some leslie on the second half of each verse. Our band has two guitars, bass, drums, piano and me on the keyboard. Hope you can have some fun with this song. ~BOB I'm practicing so that people can maybe go "wow" at an imaginary gig I'll never play. -Nadroj
J. Dan
Are you sure they're playing like the YouTube. I sat in with a buddy for his church and they gave me a chord chart that didn't match the music. Sure enough, THEY played it like the chord chart. Dan Acoustic/Electric stringed instruments ranging from 4 to 230 strings, hammered, picked, fingered, slapped, and plucked. Analog and Digital Electronic instruments, reeds, and throat/mouth. David Loving
Very nice song. Learn the melody, then fit the chords as you hear them. Keep it simple. Relax it'll work out fine! "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown."

Jazz+
For solo piano I would basicly play the triad in the right hand and octaves (roots) in the left hand on beats 1 and 3 and beat my left thumb on the backbeats (2 and 4)... then rave it up as the song unfolds (eventually rocking octaves in eighths in left hand) Harry Likas was the Technical Editor of Mark Levine's "The Jazz Theory Book" and helped develop "The Jazz Piano Book." theGman
If all else fails, just do it the New Testament way and sing it without musical instruments. You have the argument of history on your side, and the people might enjoy the relief once in a while.
