keyman27
I'm looking for examples of the "organ trio plus vocalist" format. Male or female vocals. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
mate stubb
Now why would you spoil a perfectly good organ trio with a vocalist? Moe ---
keyClicker
I remember a trio from Kansas City called "Ken Lovern OJT". They played some jazz, some pop, etc, and they had a vocalist called Bukeka Shoals that was bad! Worth checking.
Baldwin Funster
I wouldn't google Bukeka if I were you. Just sayin. FunMachine.
Melodious Thunk
I kinda agree with Moe, but Eddie Landsberg has a vocalist on this CD: Remembering Eddie Jefferson
StringBeanJake
I posted this on another thread - Junior Parker and Jimmy McGriff: [video:youtube] The song is from this album - a live blues club date, great vocals, great patter, burning blues organ. yannis D
Joe Doggs is a good example as mentioned. Joey DeFrancesco does a fantastic job on this particular cd. You could also check out Joe D's own hammond trio plus band, where he plays and sings. Its not a "pure" trio but the organ is on the frontline and so the voice of Joey, and you can get an idea. I-missRichardTee
Love this album. First time I heard I thought Joe Doggs was a female. [video:youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hr6A4Tr2Vs That's Joe Pesci. www.imdb.com/name/nm0000582/bio chas Now, HOW did you find this out. Joey did not want his name advertised. Who is the guitar player? ;-) No female at all; Joey's excellent ( and unrecognized ) singing, was greatly influenced by Little Jimmy Scott, who sings in the very high range.
