Mojo comparisons and numpty review

I recently had some problems with sounds from my Mojo (bought second hand) which have been resolved by hooking up a monitor and doing some basic editing and now it is great.

In the meantime I decided to explore some other options:

Nord stage classic 88

Nord C2d

Casio xw-p1

Galileo app

Nord C2d Pros : great over all tone

Lovely layout, LCD display, lots of knobs,

Faster repeat machine gun action on keyboard than Mojo

Easy access to other sounds

Feels lighter than Mojo

Cons: Leslie sim not as good as Crumar (IMO) a bit warbly

Drawbars do not feel as good as Crumar although not bad

Keyboard is noisy and clunky

Casio xw-p1 pros:

Very light weight

Has some sliders

Lots of editing options

Has some good sounds on youtube with Burn

Cons: PCM/Drawbar organs are no match

Keyboard has weird spongy feel

Midi seems hit and miss

Ugly for drawbar organ option

Frustrating to use

Leslie terrible

Overdrive awful

High pitch on 1" drawbar annoying

Nord stage classic

Pros: fair organ sounds and leslie sim

Draw buttons display which settings currently being used

Cons:

Leslie no match for C2d, Mojo and Galileo

Weighted keys

Galileo

Pros: best app organ so far

Midi learn great

Nice interface

Cheap option

Cons

Midi hangs a lot on all master keyboards( might be something I am not doing)

Brilliant value set at maximum as default which needs to be reset for each preset

Leslie not as nice as Mojo or C2d

Presets not to my taste

Decided to sell the Casio as its not for me after lots of time spent

I have to sell the Nord C2d as I need the cash and my Mojo problems have been resolved, but I would love to keep it as it is excellent.

My overall impression is that the Mojo is the only option where I sit and play and enjoy and really get into it, coming away witha feeling of satisfaction.

Obviously I would love to have a vent like leslie but I do not really know how much the Mojo and Vent differ as I have yet to try the vent.

And that is the beauty of the Mojo, sound and simplicity.

I have never owned a Ventilator, but the GSI Burn is awesome with the Mojo.

SSM

I have owned a Ventilator (loved it). I have heard the Mojo live played by another forumite. Got to play it for a minute after the gig was over. Haven't heard the Mojo with a GSI Burn but it sounded great without it, IMNSHO.
