It's also the one thing that Roland did better then everyone else.

My Roland D-50 had the best aftertouch. Nothing else I currently own is quite like it. There was a slider control to the left of the D-50's keyboard to activate aftertouch... very well implemented.

Never had a problem with my KX76's aftertouch when I had it: I thought it was just right.

For big swells and wahs I prefer a footpedal.

 

Never owned a keyboard with aftertouch (or had a breath controller at the same time as I owned a DX7 or TX7).

 

That being said, I have gigged with aftertouch mapped to a footpedal.
