Tusker
'tis the season for soft-synth sales. I was about to pick up Aalto and I'd thought I'd check in to see what you think ... [video:youtube]dZILc41MzoQ It reminds me of some of the whacked out sounds I used to love on the Nord Modular, but without nearly as much of a learning curve. (I hope.) Any opinions on this or other soft modulars? Thanks!
GovernorSilver
Good reviews as I recall, and pairs nicely, not surprisingly, with their Soundplane controller. Might still be the best Buchla modular emulator out there.
Ed A.
I bought it about a month ago and I think it's great. It is very Buchla-like, so don't expect to be using it for bread and butter sounds while playing in a cover band. If, however, you're looking for something very different, then this is it. FYI, Aalto is selling for 50% off until tomorrow.
Tusker
If, however, you're looking for something very different, then this is it. Sounds perfect. Yeah, I don't need bread and butter. I've been lurking in this thread, and all the talk about FM and modulation had me gassing for a little chaos and timbral uncertainty again.
