Bridog6996
I wish that Impellizzeri's shipped their Sicilian pizza and bread sticks. That is one thing I miss about living in Louisville. Wonder if it is as good now as it was 20 years ago? I don't know what it was like 20 years ago, but now it's...okay. It still has a rep, but I think they use that as an excuse to jack the prices, as it's a pretty expensive joint. Too expensive in my opinion. The pizza's good, but there are other pizza spots in town I'd rather hit up. My YouTube Channel
mate stubb
But I bet they are quick to point out how much better Argentine beef is than American beef Spent a couple weeks in Buenos Aires for work a few years back...man are they crazy about their meat. Even this Iowa boy needed a break by the middle of the week. True! I was in Cordoba for a week. They absolutely stuffed me with lomitos, and we had a big asado one night for my birthday. I had meat sweats after that one. Moe ---

I notice they have outgrown the original spot and spread out into 3 locations. That is never a good sign. This post edited for speling. I forget what the story is exactly, but I think it's two brothers that had a falling out or something. One brother owns the "original" Impellizzeri's along with the two other locations with that name. The other brother went rogue and opened up his own spot called Tony Impellizzeri's. I've actually never been to Tony's, but from what I hear, it's essentially the same pizza, but cheaper. My YouTube Channel
Synthoid
Stop it, please! Can't find any edible pizza here in town. When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray.
Synthaholic
I wanted to make sure that the only GAS I had on Black Friday was from my mom's cooking, so I purposefully avoided any knowledge of sales from musiciansfriend, sweetwater, guitar center, etc. My only contact with Black Friday was going to Walmart to get a replacement PS3 USB charging cable. The place was a madhouse, but since I had one small item people shooed me to the front. I was in and out of there in 5 minutes - maybe a new record for me! RABid
Well, on Black Friday I was sitting in the middle of a 450 acre farm. No wired phone, internet or TV. There is one spot on the porch that you can get 2 bars of cell service. No black Friday shopping for me. I was home by cyber Monday. Didn't see any really good deal other than the Novation Vortex for $100. That made me mad since I bought one a few months ago. This post edited for speling. I've actually never been to Tony's, but from what I hear, it's essentially the same pizza, but cheaper. Tony's restaurant is about 2 miles from my house. It's in a strip center and is very small, probably only 6-8 tables. I'm sure their focus is carry-out. I've had it several times. It is very, very good. A thick, hearty pie with loads of ingredients. Two slices of this is plenty for me. I've also had Giordano's in Chicago. Very, very good but not radically better than Tony's. GovernorSilver
Black Friday.. I ordered a couple of Sevcik method books for viola, and the Bach cello suites arranged for viola as part of Amazon's 30% off book sale. Then stopped by Guitar Center to see if I could find a use for the 15% off coupon (i didn't), then checked out Noah's 80s cover band - that was the most fun activity of the day. Cyber Monday... couple of delay pedals at great (imo) discounts.
Bridog6996
Hmm, now that I'm looking at the menus out of curiosity, it seems that Tony's charges more than the original Impellizzeri's. That's odd. I thought it was supposed to be cheaper. Maybe I had it the other way around. My favorite pizza spot in town is Bonnie and Clyde's. I hadn't even heard of it until I moved to the south end, as it's pretty out of the way. It's the kind of pizza that is its own thing, not Chicago or New York style. The crust is amazing. Bill H.
Since the thread has veered off into pizzas, the most inventive name for a pizzeria I've seen in ages is Pizzicato Pizza. They specialize in unusual gourmet pies and several outlets in the Portland area. Haven't tried them yet but will. Roasted butternut squash pizza with creamy chevre and chicken apple sausage anyone? Well, I'd pass on that one myself - but I'm sure I'll find something to my liking.

That is out there, but I may try Bonnie and Clyde's during one of my Far Out Music trips. I can always get it to go and eat it on the Snyde while making my way home. Plus, thin crust is my favorite. I did not realize that Tony's had moved to New Albany. At ate at his restaurant a few times when it was close to Hurstbourne and 60. Buffet was great. A little one station table with pizza and the best cinnamon bread sticks I ever had. This post edited for speling.
