However, those spiral cymbals........... those would be a good candidate for discussion in that earlier crash cymbal thread 😂. I guess with just the three of them, you can take some liberties in filling the sonic spectrum Quote Some music I've recorded and played over the years with a few different bands Tommy Rude Soundcloud

NewImprov
Meshell Ndegeocello's new album, and first for Blue Note, The Omnichord Real Book. I've been a fan since her first album, and this may be among her best albums. I've played this like 5 times in the past 24 hours, and I'm still hearing more to it. As I understand it, these tunes were written on the Omnichord, and I can hear it in the mix, but she has, as always, killer players from the new jazz/R&B worlds filling out the tracks, including Jason Moran, Brandee Younger and Cory Henry. Beautiful stuff. https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mF8qLClfxJ4KtNrcENML17G_tQbfZqqe0 2 Quote Turn up the speaker Hop, flop, squawk It's a keeper -Captain Beefheart, Ice Cream for Crow

Anyway Listening to Brian Hughes, a jazz guitarist. I call him "Pat Metheny Lite" - has a similar sound and IMO is quite good, but has a bit more of a "smooth jazz" blend (but not in a nauseating Kenny G kind of way).
