So.is this to be an instrumental ensemble then? (Maybe Jakk sings?)

Why 3 drummers is beyond me, especially given that Gavin is one of them. Mastelleto is no slouch, but Gavin is a beast. (Hes been with Porcupine Tree for a number of years.) I guess there is life after Kylie Minogue.

Hitting "Play" does NOT constitute live performance. -Me.

Guess they're not gonna play any old shit. :idk

According to this, it's gonna be all old shit (meaning, no new shit):

It'll be interesting to see what they have Mel Collins do any Belew-era material.

Jakko sounds like a decent keyboardist and vocalist here, with Collins on flute/woodwinds -it's a cover of "Islands":

It's a mystery to me

why Fripp doesn't just get the wife to sing. Read the articles

but I'm still searching for a clue.

I know it's

a shot in the dark but the big question mark

for me is will they be doing Elephant Talk without Baloo?

I'm the piano player "off of" Borrowed Books.

I got into King Crimson via the Belew era. I liked the lean-and-mean 80s Crimson sound but have developed more of an appreciation for the earlier stuff. I've never seen them perform material from Islands, Lizard, and other 70s albums live, with the exceptions of "Red" and "21st Century Schizoid Man". I'd pay money to see them do so, especially with Mel Collins back on board and what appears to be a capable vocalist/multi-instrumentalist in Jakko. I'd known of him before as the guitarist who played Allan Holdsworth's parts in Level 42 but didn't realize he could also play keys and sing.

The double trio show in Nashville had a decibel limit and they stuck pretty much to it. But Tony Levin alluded to the fact that they would otherwise be peeling the paint off the walls.

9 Moog things, 3 Roland things, 2 Hammond things and a computer with stuff on it

Rehearsing for one year? With Fripp?

Good luck with that....

I thought the same exact thing until I realized what Fripp was saying was with everyone's commitments to other projects it would take a year. But most probably a month or two of actually getting together when all are available.

By the way love your comments, especially with the Yiddish thrown in. Such a mensch.

Just about everybody in the new King Crimson lineup has already worked with everybody else and has familiarity with the King Crimson repertoire. Jakko for example worked with Mel Collins in 21st Century Schizoid Band, a cover band that was made up of Crimson alumni.

They probably don't need a year of rehearsals to be ready for the 2014 tour.

I get a credit for a photo of Sid and Fripp but this is a better one!
