Meriah
Hey folks, i have a chance to buy a used Cirklon sequencer and it looks like a lot of fun. Is there a software sequencer that is a better choice? I am a guitar player so I don't know anything about this, I just want to fool around in my home studio. Thanks, Meriah
ksoper
This would depend on the price. I don't own one, but the Cirklon looks like a very big gun. Numerology for OSX does many of the same things for considerably less money (retail). If I were just fooling around I'd try the software first. 9 Moog things, 3 Roland things, 2 Hammond things and a computer with stuff on it
J. Dan
I didn't realize anybody made hardware sequencers anymore. That thing looks pretty cool. Reminds me of the old analog step sequencers except a lot more powerful. That would be great for somebody who had a mix of Analog (non-MIDI) gear and MIDI gear. Dan Acoustic/Electric stringed instruments ranging from 4 to 230 strings, hammered, picked, fingered, slapped, and plucked. Analog and Digital Electronic instruments, reeds, and throat/mouth. GovernorSilver
Oh yeah, there's a bunch of hardware sequencers out there. Some were made to cater to the modular synth market (control voltage), but there are some like the Cirklon that also support MIDI.
Meriah
It looks quite tempting, but it's not cheap. Anybody play with the sequencer in the dave smith prophet 8 module? What to do, what to do?
GovernorSilver
Unless the Cirklon is going for $75 or something (j/k) I'd suggest the software route.
Synthoid
I didn't realize anybody made hardware sequencers anymore. Still made, but illegal in some states... When an eel hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's a Moray.
