Mr. Nightime
In just a couple weeks I will be getting a new computer, a laptop that will probably run Windows 8. I've been doing a little research, and have not yet found the answer to the big question...Will Sonar X1 Producer work on Windows 8? The only thing I've found so far is that there were some issues with the sound engine, but that was on the Win 8 Beta. Also, does VB3 work on Win 8? Need to know before I make my final determination of the OS. As far as what I get, still up in the air, but I want at least 8GB RAM and at least a 750GB HD, even though I have a 1TB external USB drive. May use it as a VST host. Not sure yet. Decisions, decisions... Thanks "In the beginning, Adam had the blues, 'cause he was lonesome. So God helped him and created woman. Now everybody's got the blues." mate stubb
You probably don't want this thread to turn into a "Win 8 is total shite I would never ever ever install it on my machine" rant, so I won't say anything. B3bluesman59
You probably don't want this thread to turn into a "Win 8 is total shite I would never ever ever install it on my machine" rant _________________________________________________________________I too hated Win 8....until I installed a "start" app which replaces the Win 8 mish-mash desktop. My default desktop is now the same as Win 7, Vista, etc. However you can access the original Win 8 desktop with the touch of a key and there are some nice features in Win 8 that I really like. I think the Windows 8.1 upgrade which will be coming soon from MSFT will have a way to restore the original desktops that we all have been using for years. If not, check out the aftermarket. miden
Yes it will - I am using X2 from X1, and both work fine on W8 as well as quite a few others things... regardless of what the less well-informed on this thread would have you believe There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence... Mr. Nightime
Thanks. I have no immediate plans to upgrade to Sonar X2. I wanted to make sure I didn't have to if my new machine is Win 8. Another couple weeks and I'll have it. "In the beginning, Adam had the blues, 'cause he was lonesome. So God helped him and created woman. Now everybody's got the blues." miden
No probs - As I understand it, the next upgrade will also include full touch support for W8 too There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence...
