Dannyalcatraz
On another board, one of the members posted the pictures and story behind his latest build. It is a stunning bit of craftsmanship and an awesome tribute to his dad. I thought others should see it. http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1611712 Anyone else see anything recently that really was a great example of a luthier thinking outside of the box and coming up with something truly special? Larryz
Very cool guitar and story to go with it. I love those buffalo nickel knobs and the Harley picture (in color). It reminds me of a story I heard that Bob Taylor once made an acoustic guitar out of a shipping pallet to show what a good luthier can do... http://www.laguitarsales.com/pages/3157/Taylor_Custom_Shop_Pallet.htm <--- this may be part of the story... Take care, Larryz

whitefang
I noticed Dannyalcatraz hangs out over THERE, too. Anyway...incredible job all around. The Harley decal on the headstock was a very cool touch, as were the "Buffalo" nickel topped hex-nuts used for knobs. Dad should be proud. Where EVER he is! Whitefang I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!

Dannyalcatraz
I noticed Dannyalcatraz hangs out over THERE, too. Yeah, it's the other place I routinely go for all things guitar. The ONLY other place. Here, I routinely get to talk to knowledgable vets of the axe. There, I seem to be one of the older dudes. (Not necessarily more knowledgeable, just older... ) Here, its more of a classic rock/jazz/blues loving bunch. There, metal is the genre that rules the conversations, though others show up as well. It also seems a bit more diverse internationally and active as well. I see a lot of people over there from the UK and Asian/Middle Eastern countries. And a LOT of people over there start "What guitar should I buy?" and "Look what I just bought!" threads, which are always fun. Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a.
