I look at it this way: no guitar or tone, including amps, effects, etc., is any better than any other. They are tools in the trade of making music. That said, it's possible to get a pretty wide range of tones out of modern guitars with modern pickup combinations, amp modeling, etc.

 

With all due respect to everyone - don't expect the same sound as a pro who has $500,000 of leased tour gear and an expert soundman on his gigs.

 

When playing arena-rock everything changes.

Well it has to. That`s a big space and way too many people to explain how it was `one of those nights`.
