I actually saw one of these basses at the Cream reunion gig I attended at Madison Square Garden. And it sat on a stand, ALL NIGHT LONG! Jack only played his Gibson EB-1 for the whole gig.

 

And it does look something like the bastard child of a Wal, a Warwick and a Gibson EB-3. Has anyone actually seen Jack perform with one of these live?

I think he plays with something similar (different color) on the Royal Albert Hall DVD. Will watch it again to confirm that.

 

And may I add how jealous I am that you got to see them live...

Hell, I remember when my local Sam Ash had A COUPLE of Wal's hanging up. If I knew then what I know now! But then, one was that red Geddy Lee looking Wal.

Sorry, I was wrong. Looks like he's playing a fretless Thumb, not this bass.

 

Either way, I was amazed again how he never sounds like he's playing fretless, until he wants to.
