Dannyalcatraz
They all look great...but the paintjob on that "sci-fi" one is spectacular! DIY or do you subcontract stuff like that? Boggs
Subcontract. The guy's name is Brian Briskie. Goes by "Brian The Brush" and he is a world renown artist in airbrush. I can get you in contact with him if you need... Dannyalcatraz
Nope, nothing I need airbrushed...right now. But you may just have altered my GAS list. I know of some makers out there who do incredible airbrushed guitars that I would LOVE to own, but I'm not prepared to shell out $4500 on that right now. And they don't subcontract, so they only work on guitars done for that company. Knowing "you got a guy" means I could get something done by someone who is a bit more of a known quantity! What you can't see from the photo is how the purple pearloid comes through the black in the right light... She's a beauty! and I love that Strat underarm body taper on the Tele body along with the maple fretboard neck! I would suggest reverse mounting the plate so that the selector switch is at the rear, then the tone pot, and then the volume pot in the front...it's a very cool and simple modification, I know it will work well on the model without the Bigsby so you might set up the other Tele 1st and then try the reverse plate on the black one and see if it's comfortable/compatible with the Bigsby model... Dannyalcatraz
Y'know, I've been looking at the contours on your RBTs, and I just had a thought: you might want to get your sketch pad or CAD and apply the same kind of design changes to a Gibson 335/355 type body. Could be cool... Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. skipclone 1
Very nice work-if the day comes around, I`d like to see you at the Tokyo Music Instrument Fair. Despite appearances it`s not just an excuse to try your guitars. It`s that too but not just that... picker
Is the trem on the black Tele from Guitar Fetish? I'll be real interested to know how you think it works, Boggsy. Major admiration on the robot paint job. That's gonna be a cool guitar! Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.
Boggs
Yes. I just strung it up and it seems pretty good. I have to let the strings break in a bit before I can judge how well it stays in tune, but the mechanism appears to be very low friction and it tuned up very easily initially... much more so than I had anticipated. I have never built a guitar with a whammy before and have never really played one before either so I have nothing to compare it to.
