I called to congratulate him and see what gives, and he said the drummer told him: "Man, on the phone you said you can't play bass well, but you're really good" to which he replied: "I got a great teacher" With my blues band collapsing soon, maybe I should think about investing more time in teaching for a while. Although I am more inclined to finally take some lessons again myself "I'm a work in progress." He's come to a number of our gigs and I always try to give him a shout out from the stage. I wouldn't be playing or in a band if it hadn't been for him.
