SteveCoscia
Great rendition. Incredible how Lee Michaels and Frosty Smith got such a big sound. Fun indeed. Steve Coscia
Ekewaka
Saw on Lee Michael's web site that he's building a new keyboard amp rig using Mesa Carbon bass amps and speakers!
burningbusch
Dynamics and interesting rhythmic ideas. What the hell was he thinking????? Hadn't heard that in ages, thanks. Busch.
zukskywalker
Fond memories of Lee and Frosty at the Paramount back in the day and for me at least that was their signature song. At that time rumor had it that Lee was going deaf from playing thru stacks of Leslies. When I walked into the Paramount show he was playing on a "modest" Wurlitzer electric piano...thru stacks of Marshall's. Quieter? NOT! They tore it up, even though I would have loved to witness the Hammond with Leslie nirvana rig.
Dave Weiser
Lee is one of my all time favorites- thanks for posting! Here's one of my favorite cuts (I think from the same album with Frosty) [video:youtube] I based the PC3's Lee Michaels KB3 preset on that track. https://www.theboywhowantedtorock.com http://www.weisersound.com https://www.facebook.com/weisersound
Kawai James
Just for fun - That's a pretty killer version of a classic tune. Love the licks in the solo starting around 2:50! Thanks for posting. Cheers, James x EDIT1: I was about to add that the organ sound and that riff in particular reminded me of a tune I had on a funky organ compilation. I couldn't remember the name of the track, but recalled it started with the lyric "Would you be happy, would you be sad...". Went off to try YouTube, and sure enough it's the same guy! Going to have to check out more of this artist - thanks again for the hook-up! EDIT2: Just read Dave's post... Employed by Kawai Japan, however the opinions I express are my own.
