mike dyson
Hey guys.. take it easy it's my first time. I am a proud new owner of a Crumar Mojo organ and wondering if you can 'Save' manual presets with specific drawbar settings the way you can on a Nord Electro 2. I haven't turned on the organ yet, and I want to get all my expectations in order so I won't go nuts if some features different than I envisioned. Also I guess you can't pull out the stops the way you might to end a song if you are using a factory 'preset'. But.. are you able to pull up a factory 'preset' and re-save it to a new location so you could then utilize the drawbars? Let me know if you can also for your best idea for a speaker set up. LyonsT
Hi Mike, The easiest way to explain it is this as it confused me at first as I was used to a XK3c system. You have one organ 'sound', just the one you setup with various knobs and what not... You cannot make 2-3 different organ sounds and save them in presets you can only save the drawbar settings via the preset panel buttons! Speaker setup I would go for a stereo amp with at least 12" bass speaker you may want more as I found the bass distorts with the Mojo, I have moved on since I had it Tonewheels!! Mike Mike, Congratulations on your new Mojo!!! FYI there is a yahoo group that's dedicated to the Mojo called Mojomusicians.. there are quite a few members/owners and it's growing pretty fast. First to answer your question.. the Mojo has 7 presents for each of the upper and lower keyboards.. (so 14 altogether).. each keyboard has a "manual" preset which allows you to manually control the drawbars and 6 additional presets that are user programmable. Be aware that these presets are blank from the factory (when I first powered on my Mojo I found this a bit confusing and thought that something might be wrong with my Mojo initially). Expect the presets to be blank. To set each of the presets, they work just like a car radio.. adjust your drawbars to the setting you want (using the manual preset button), then press and hold (for a couple seconds) the preset button that you want to store the drawbar setting in, and your preset will be stored. As it was stated previously, like a real B3 the drawbar presets ONLY store drawbar information.. AND the upper "manual" preset is the only preset that allows for Percussion. You cannot store different organs in these presets (ie different tonewheel sets, leakage, or leslie settings etc.). However you have most of the controls you will need to adjust important parameters that you will need as you move from one song to another (parameters like overdrive, keyclick, reverb, and bass/treble EQ). Regarding speaker set up.. I run my Mojo in stereo, through a pair of QSC K10's and the Mojo sounds fantastic! I have not experienced any problems with bass distorting, using the 10" speakers in the K10's AND there is more than enough bass.. I have my K10's set to normal (not enhanced bass) and I have to roll off the bass a bit... so from my perspective there is no problem with the bass at least not using the K10's. Hope this helps and answers your questions.. mate stubb
What Craig said. I run the same amp rig - 2 QSC K10s.
