RABid
I changed over to a Nokia 920 Win 8 phone a few weeks ago. This week I got a notice of an update for the Facebook app. What surprised me is the app will not allow me to install it unless I give it permission to use location services. There has been a lot of controversy lately with Facebook automatically posting your location when you view something within a group or when you read a PM. Are the iPhone and Android Facebook apps also making this a requirement to install updates? If you install the Win8 version of the app can you then go in and deny it access to location services? Mike Martin
I don't think so on the iPhone. You can disable location services on any app independently. -Mike Martin Casio Mike Martin Photography Instagram Facebook The Big Picture Photography Forum on Music Player Network The opinions I post here are my own and do not represent the company I work for. J. Dan
On the Blackberry, it asks you if you want to enable location services in the setup after install. RABid
Thanks. From what I can see, the Win8 Phone OS has not yet evolved to the point that you can enable/disable this by individual app. There is only a single on/off option in setup. I hate to turn it off globally because of my weather and travel apps. This post edited for speling.
