CEB
Anybody know who makes this bench? or a bench with a similar design? Though it looks like it won't break down well and may be heavy. It looks very adjustable though. Thanks [video:youtube] "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! MoodyBluesKeys
No idea about the bench, but it was worth 18 minutes to just put everything else on pause and listen to the partita. If I could afford the concert grand, I'm sure I could scrape up enough for the bench. Most "artist benches" for grands are in that general price range. Ken Beaumont
"Artist Bench" my ass. I don't know? How much does support? A comfortable, adjustable bench that doesn't collapse might be worth $900 to save a doctor bill. I have an On Stage piano bench that collapsed on me, my back hurt for weeks afterward. JeffLearman
It's amazing what they charge for Artists' benches ... most start at $500. But I'm talking about the furniture type, that you'd put in front of a grand piano. I guess they figure once you've blown the cash for a GP, what's an extra half a grand for the bench? I think it was Blueskeys who pointed me to a decent looking artists' bench for about $150, which from the pics looks good. But again, it's furniture, not gig gear. I'm still using the crappy one that came with (but doesn't match) my piano, with a pillow on top to make it the right height and keep my ass from hurting. That one's gotta go. I have no need for the $900 hydraulic version. For gigging I use a $14 folding stool from Walmart. I have two, and when they break I'll just buy more.
