kelp
I wanted to offer public kudos to Nord's US distributor -- American Music & Sound (AM&S) -- for their fantastic assistance in resolving an issue I had with my new Stage 2 76. So, I buy a brand new unit and notice that the text in the LCD looks like it's tilted. Slanting down and to the right. Well, the board plays fine and sounds fine so what do I care? But my "LCD OCD" kicks in and I decide to take the unit to a local service center for warranty repairs. I get the unit back within a week but with little to no improvement. The tech explained how the LCD has plastic rivets affixing it to the circuit card and that there's really not a lot of play there. I made an honest effort and decided to move on. Hmmm... Turns out it continued to bother me. I called my supplier and they directed me to AM&S. I spoke with Hy Grauer, my friendly Returns Representative. He was so understanding and so accommodating. It was great to get that kind of treatment. They offer to repair it themselves with a one-day turnaround. No shipping charges. They even sent a FedEx truck TO MY HOUSE to get the unit! Almost a week to get there via ground, one day turnaround (as promised), and almost a week to get the unit back. I opened it up. It looked the same! That's when I called to ask for an exchange, which they happily agreed to. This time I had to drop the unit off at a FedEx station but shipping was still free. And I was able to talk them into cross-shipping so I could get the new unit sooner. When we were talking Hy mentioned that someone on our e-mail trail produced a service bulletin prescribing a fix for this issue. At least I knew I wasn't crazy, and AM&S certainly never made me feel that way. He professed customer satisfaction during every phone call. The new unit arrived. I nervously opened the box. Looked good! Maybe possibly kinda sorta slightly tipped. I don't know. My mind was playing tricks on me now. But the bottom line is I'm OK with it. I played the board, bonded with it and stared it down for a week before calling AM&S to officially declare my acceptance. I'm now positively happy with the board and with AM&S. Many thanks to the entire AM&S team! My total cost for this adventure was $1 (FedEx drop off fee), a little gas, a couple of phone calls and e-mails, a little sweat and anxiety, and about 3 weeks without a board. I also now have a history record with AM&S, which basically means I didn't lose any warranty time through all this. Bobadohshe
Pablo Mastodon has also been great. Whoa. That's a hell of a name. I think I saw a movie with him in it which was filmed on a seedy set in Van Nuys. Dana.
I'll give them props when they actually get Studiologic products in stores so that people can play them. The Numa controllers have been out for what, three years? Never seen one in a GC or Sam Ash. And the Numa Piano and Organ have been out for a year or two? Same deal. Total FAIL. How do you know that's AM&S's fault? Are you sure the products in question are shipping? Or (much more to the point) that GC and Ash have ordered them? Not all products automatically get ordered by all stores...especially not these days. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Affiliations: Cloud Microphones • Music Player Network
Dave Weiser
AM&S has done a consistently good job supporting Kurzweil as well. They always go the extra mile to sort out customers with problems, and they've done a great job with getting us into more stores in the US. And getting new product into stores is a VERY difficult task these days, for all manufacturers. https://www.theboywhowantedtorock.com http://www.weisersound.com https://www.facebook.com/weisersound

Perhaps the purchasers have reviewed the products for themselves and decided not to stock them. Wouldn't be the first time it's happened (and it's not about Studiologic per se). Dana.
Quoting from AM&S's website: American Music & Sound's mission is to maximize sales, while building market share and brand awareness. We accomplish these goals for our client companies through superior supply chain management, excellent customer service for dealers and end users, superb sales management, cogent marketing and aggressive promotion. I just don't see this being done for Studiologic.
