Michele C.
I have used GarageBand as an amplifier for long time, but never fiddled too much with the settings. I have been mostly with the Studio direct box settings for bass.Tonight, by mistake I have used a guitar amp, the brown combo after the tweed and before the Mesa Boogie. It was an exceptionally good sound with the right amount of grit with gain at 4. it could become my default voice when I am at the computer. -- Michele Costabile (http://proxybar.net)

Pernax
I think Garage Band is a great tool. It's simple enough to get started fast, so you wont lose any creative momentum setting up the session files and so on. There's also enough useful features and sounds to keep you going once the initial tracking is done. -P (up to 200 characters) You may use UBBCode in your signature. zeronyne
It's important to try all the settings of all the plug ins if you are looking for a very specific sound. Under the graphic with which on interacts, it's just a bunch of clever math. I often get a great bass tome by going through two mic pres and then a heavy compressor. "For instance" is not proof.
