picker Posted March 27, 2012 Share Posted March 27, 2012 I've seen them painted and not painted, and I suspect it's more a cosmetic issue than to protect the wood. J. Dan Posted March 27, 2012 Share Posted March 27, 2012 If there are any gaps, holes, or other ways to see into the cabinet, they don't want you seeing something bright or unfinished. Black ensures you wont see the insides from the outside. It's cosmetic. Dan Acoustic/Electric stringed instruments ranging from 4 to 230 strings, hammered, picked, fingered, slapped, and plucked.
